Believe it or not, I just purchased a little machine to count my steps...I am definitely starting slow and building up to 10,000 steps a day (around 5 miles)...I'll probably be there in 2-3 weeks...Remember I HATE to walk and exercise; but I realize I must in order to continue to drop pounds...I continue to eat healthy and I AM NOT HUNGRY...Breakfast: 1 strips turkey bacon and 1 egg...Lunch: Laughing Cow Light Cheese wedge, crackers, & walnuts...For supper I am planning to have burgers (turkey that is) with fries (baked sweet potato cut to look like fries)...both are yummy...family now knows when I say burgers and fries what it really means...I tried the Oprah/Donald Trump recipe for turkey burgers...WOW is it great...recipe is on her website...Well got to go exercise on recumbant bike...Talk soon...

Another Successful Day-July 29, 2008
It is now 7:23 am and for the first time in a very long time, I woke up feeling terrific...No aches and pains...Once upon a time I had problems with my left knee (some osteoarthritis)...now pain is decreasing...I have purchased a recumbant bike for the house; I like this set up better than a stationary bike because it is easier for me to sit in a straight chair and exercise than on a small uncomfortable bike seat...It is important each day to keep and diary of some kind to help you see your progress or your failings (and you will have days that aren't so positive). Oh and while I am on the bike today (3x a week I do this), I also exercise my arms by using two five pound weights.
Every day I do THE Mirror Lookover...I am seeing ALOT of fat decreasing in my back...this is new to me usually I when I've lost weight it has been from top to bottom. I have read that where you loose weight changes with aging. You want to make sure that you begin exercise slowly but consistantly do some exercise to help shrink the fat and loose skin.
I am not trying to be "Twiggy" (for those of you not as old as I am-Twiggy was the original malnutrition-looking model in the 60's)...my focus is to feel better, live longer, and most importantly enjoy life to its fullest. I am already feeling less a spectator and more a do-er.
I also walk at least 3x a week(30 minutes). And I hate walking. I am being very honest with you, I feel terrible while walking. BUT lately I have noticed that after I walk, I do feel better. I am walking very slowly still...still afraid I will hurt my knee or fall (and won't be able to get up without help). But you must overcome that fear and keep moving.
I must sign off for today...Keep trying...Be positive...Start today...Set up a daily diet and exercise plan.
You can do it and I can help you,

Welcome all to my new site
I am a new blogger with some knowledge to share...I have been overweight (300+ lbs) most of my adult life and have finally figured out a lifestyle which now includes losing weight in a healthy way...So far I've lost almost 50 pounds in the last 5 months and I am NOT feeling like I'm on a diet and I am not exercising my life away either...You are asking yourself how did I do it...well, briefly, I did a great deal of research of all the diets out there on the market today, I took a look at my lifestyle, what foods I liked and disliked, I included my medical conditions that might affect the diet (I have just started high blood pressure issues, cholesterol is a bit high); I then sat down and selected the best features from the various diets and wrote down how I was going to take control of my health. Sounds easy--well it was not easy...I spent months researching different diets, foods, exercise programs, etc. until I realized that no one diet was right for me, I liked some things about various diets, so I went about creating my own specific lifestyle plan. I took the safest diets (no fads), exercise for beginners, and just STARTED my new way of life. I am so excited about this plan that I created a website www.imtiredofbeingfat.com that I hope will help others to start losing weight quickly without having to spend the time researching. I understand what it is like to be overweight and I want to be her to provide support to you. Please make comments, comeback to this blog, and I will definitely keep you up to date on my progress, please keep me up to date on yours.
